So what is it about Hattrick International? That is what we asked a few people in the game. We hope that you will enjoy the reading.

Q: In a few words, what is your opinion about the new competition?

HT-Johan (1836): It will be very interesting to try this idea of a completely fresh league and a race to the top, since it has always been around as a request for anyone that started after 1997 and didn’t get in on the ground floor. I think this is a good compromise between trying that idea without taking anything away from the established leagues, who we’d never dream of resetting. From a plain user perspective, I’m really motivated to have a team in International myself as I think it will remind me of some things that made me fall in love with Hattrick when the game was young.

HT-Tasos (10800601): It is one of a kind! A unique chance during the 20 years of Hattrick, where thousands of users can start from zero at exactly the same time. Imagine a few of the most experienced users compete each other and fight for the promotion. Think about the "circle of a Hattrick team". Most of us have sold all our players only to start from scratch, with a new training plan. The downside was that you have to wait 2-3 seasons until you will become competitive again. Not this time. Every decision is important and you have to take into account training, management, economy, luck in a few days before the first kick off. As you can see, I cannot wait for it! :)

goomikko (8865918): Interesting, late and try to offer something for the old users, to make the product more productive. I think this should have been a model when they released second teams.

ercanto (8118689): It can be very interesting. A competition with all users experiments, with few errors. Probably a career in trade, a career in economics. Trading and promotions.
A kind of circle around money. In my opinion, it is a kind of hattrick express.
The problem that I see (not everything can be good) is that the motivation for competition will last for a short time. Once the groups are defined, some users will lose interest. In the end there will be only 2 groups of users: some competing for titles and others taking their projects for a long term. The users who will not achieve success or motivation will abandon the competition and lose interest.

Schumi- (804797): It will be interesting to see what different approaches are used and how successful they will be. Starting with a sizeable group of experienced users at the same time in an equal environment allows for more competition and you would expect the level of tactics to be relatively high here. The disadvantage is obviously that access is limited to officials and the remaining few that pay a lot for Supporter.

HPE-Frank_ (11074935): I read the editorial, and decided not to join the new league. In the past, I owned a 2nd team, but discovered that for me one team was enough. I am not that active anymore... If this was offered a few years ago, I would have loved it and joined the same day though.

HPE-regia5 (911825): It is brilliant. It's something required for a long time and something that can refresh the challenge. Everyone starting from the same point is fair and we all know that only the best managers will make it. Big, big challenge.

Je_suis_Sirman_Yndy (612494): I was surprised when I first learned about Hattrick International, it provides an answer to a question that every manager thought about at least once: "How would I do against others if Hattrick got a reset?".
Getting the second team is priced as the most precious commodity within Hattrick and therefore the third team (HTI) is priced even more expensive. It is addressed to the hard core fans of Hattrick. It's a sound business decision, no question about that. I would have preferred a limited time 50% discount on all Supporter packages. As it stands right now, no thanks, I could buy 3 top games at discount with the money for 1 year of Platinum.

Zorbas (8338681): I have been quite dormant lately, but this new challenge re-activated me. A new league, where everyone starts with the same resources, a league where you can play against the most experienced and famous managers in the game, regardless of the country where they usually play? This is huge, I will not miss that!
Probably this would be the best time to bring back in the game managers who quit during the past years, some might love having the opportunity to re-start fresh, same as everyone else in the league.

Q: What short/long-term impacts do you think this unique league will have on the game?

HT-Johan (1836): It will have temporary effects on the markets, but Hattrick has lived through so many phases of money injections and money drains before and stayed eminently playable, and it will be the same now. It’s just part of the environment, even though we’ll keep an eye on things.
As a concept in the game it may influence us going forward of course, whether it is a success or a failure. What I do think may be the key impact is that it will create an alternative attraction for Platinums that wants to play just two teams. If the end result of HTI is that it makes Platinum users happier to be given that extra choice, I’d consider it a great success.

HT-Tasos (10800601): What do we have? Economy, players supply and community. As I have a limited space, I will give the short version and we can continue on the forum. The economy is a living being. There are so many aspects, like users psychology that you cannot predict. But as Hattrick has proved in the past, it is really strong and easily adapted. The extra cash from the new teams are a few thousands and the impact should be low, but we always keep an eye on unwanted signals. As for the players supply, we should expect more great players on the market. Remember what I said about the experienced users? They know how to train and use any part of a promising player. I wish I had here more space to elaborate, but we should continue on the forum: (17046582.1).!

goomikko (8865918): Impacts depend on many things. When teams are open, there will be action on transfer-list. How big the impact is depends on whether they'll add some special rules* for this league. Longer term, there will be some more NT farms and some more traders on market.
* I want to link you one post, not surprising it's from Ratsia (17042529.365). First thought about league says it's a trading competition. Like Ratsia says in that post, the first season and getting quicker highly ranked in the league structure is very important, if the HTs won't make any special rules for this league. If they just use the already existing fan and income models, there is a lot of luck included. Winning first season is important. Who wins it, gets a big advantage. And that's not purely based on skill. Another place where they might want to add special rules is how many transfers they allow. That would make teams' development more normal and the battle more strategic. Traders have always been successful, but this is extreme, when they are competing against each other, not against "regular users".
We will see teams buying lots of older players to make their teams successful fast. There won't be cheap older players when those teams open.

ercanto (8118689): Similar to the arrival of the second teams.
In the short term, the demand for players> 50k (young trainable and old) will increase.
In the medium term, the average price will continue to grow, as so far these new teams will not have a big influence, the market will lead to this by the loss of users at the bottom of the pyramid.
Long-term, increased prices, more expert teams, greater demand for better players and a similar offer. So I think the HTs will have to balance the economy.

Schumi- (804797): I am sceptical on the long term effects as I cannot imagine there are many users that have and will keep the motivation to actively run three teams. Therefore I would expect after one year that quite a few will drop out, or alternatively choose to drop their second team. Having three teams will be nearly exclusive to officials I'd expect. Also, I expect after the first season not a lot of new users will join as it is not interesting to pay a lot of money to join a competition where you are already lagging compared to the rest of the users. Also, I am afraid it will be mostly dominated by daytraders as that is still the fastest way to make money. Setting up a structured training plan won't be as effective as daydreaming. Unless they would somehow limit the number of transfers, I don't think that setting up a good training plan is the best approach.

HPE-Frank_ (11074935): Probably not that much. I don't think too many users will join the league, because it is not for free. I hope many people will enjoy it though.

HPE-regia5 (911825): More inflation regarding prices, but I don't think it's a bad thing for the game: players prices were too low before, that was a bigger issue. And, having a new challenge, it can only help to give someone more reason to refocus on the game. It'll also make it easier to be a BOT for some time with a team, if you also have 1/2 more to manage.

Je_suis_Sirman_Yndy (612494): On short and medium term there will be an increase in prices for players starting from the young trainees and gradually creeping up to all players. On the back of the recent price increase due to the re-invite campaign in September, the prices will go up much too high and will subsequently fall back significantly in 6 months to one year, unless something else happens.
HTI will show again that trading is a key success factor in Hattrick, I expect most of the top 2 divisions to be filled with traders for the near future. I don't expect other impact as the number of teams would represent less than 5% of total teams in HT.

Zorbas (8338681): I think we will notice the same impact we noticed when the first additional club was made available. Most teams will want to be competitive from the very beginning and look for cheap, decent players. Therefore, the older players' price will increase, which I reckon it is all right, considering the current prices for such players.
I also think that the new league will be a lot more attractive in terms of interaction and communication between managers. HTI will most likely be a league made of active managers, I would not be surprised to see a new record of online managers at the time the HTI matches are played. That would be great!
